On May 12, 2025, we officially inaugurated our new research center, the Host–Pathogen Interaction Center (HPIC), a project made possible with the invaluable professional and financial support of Nobel laureate Katalin Karikó. This 200 million forint investment resulted in a facility featuring a unique in vivo experimental station and five new laboratories. The center’s goal was to accelerate the development of new antimicrobial therapies, especially mRNA-based vaccines, by focusing on fungal infections and other host-pathogen interactions. The inauguration ceremony was considered a significant step for the university's scientific and innovation ecosystem.
